## Mac Workspaces v1.52 Solves the Problem macOS Never Did: Persistent Desktop Layouts That Survive Every Reboot

*Dubai-based Strange Attractor FZ-LLC ships the first serious Mission Control persistence layer since TotalSpaces2 went dark*

**Dubai, UAE — July 23, 2026** — Strange Attractor FZ-LLC today announced Mac Workspaces v1.52.1, a native macOS menu bar application that saves a user's entire Mission Control layout — which apps live on which Space, and which monitor each window belongs to — and restores it in one click. The app is available now at macworkspaces.com for $18.99 as a one-time purchase, with a free 14-day trial. An introductory offer of $9.99 is available with code HELLOWORKSPACES.

### The Problem macOS Left Unsolved

Mission Control has no persistence layer. Every reboot, every monitor disconnect, and every display configuration change silently scrambles the layout that a developer or designer spent time arranging. VS Code drifts to the wrong Space. The browser that belonged in the research Desktop ends up wherever macOS decided. Slack occupies the Space kept for communication. The result is a five-to-ten minute ritual every morning — or after every restart — to put everything back by hand.

Apple has never addressed this. The Mac App Store offers nothing. TotalSpaces2, the only app that previously solved it, stopped working with modern macOS versions because it depended on a kernel extension Apple no longer permits. That product has been incompatible and unsupported for years.

Mac Workspaces is the first viable replacement.

### What It Does

Mac Workspaces sits in the menu bar. It reads the current state of every Mission Control Desktop — which app is open, which Space it lives on, which display it belongs to — and saves that as a named profile. Restoring a profile launches any apps that are not already running, moves every window to its correct Space, and handles multi-monitor arrangements without additional configuration.

Key capabilities in v1.52.1:

- **Named profiles** — save any number of layouts (Dev, Design, Writing, or any workflow that needs its own Space arrangement)
- **One-click restore** — a single menu selection or keyboard shortcut restores the entire layout; a progress overlay confirms what is moving
- **Multi-display support** — window positions are remembered and restored across multiple monitors
- **Stage Manager compatibility** — works with Stage Manager enabled or disabled
- **Login restore** — the last active profile restores automatically on login, so the Mac comes back from sleep or reboot in the correct state
- **Auto-update via Sparkle** — updates silently without requiring App Store distribution

No account is required. No data leaves the machine. Mac Workspaces works entirely offline.

### Why It Is Not in the Mac App Store

Mac Workspaces depends on macOS APIs that Apple's App Store sandbox restricts. Distributing through the App Store would require removing the core functionality. The DMG is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized; Gatekeeper clears it without any warnings.

### Quotes

> "The feedback we kept hearing during the beta was not 'this is cool' — it was 'I cannot believe this did not exist before.' That told us something. We were not building a feature; we were filling a gap that macOS left open and that no one had properly closed in years."

— Developer, Strange Attractor FZ-LLC

> "I run three Spaces — one for code, one for comms, one for browser tabs. Before Mac Workspaces I was just rebuilding that from scratch every morning. Honestly took about five minutes and I did not think anything of it. Now I just click Restore and everything is exactly where it was. I did not realise how much of a tax that was until it was gone."

— Beta tester
